MSM: Not So Spring Cleaning

It’s about that time, spring cleaning! If only the weather would hurry up and change so that it can actually start feeling like spring time. My idea of clean is having the bottom main floor of our house clean, if that’s clean then all is right. I know, so bad right? Addi hates cleaning her room and it is always a battle. The kind of battle I choose to not have. Our bedroom just has piles of clothes everywhere, and my bed never gets done. The playroom is a mess, I pick up the toys at night when the girls go to bed but the next morning, its like an explosion went off in that room. It doesn’t help that they have a ton of toys. So that is what our house looks like if you came over. I have a love/hate relationship with cleaning. I love it because oddly enough as I am cleaning I seem to find some kind of peace. But I also hate it because once I am done cleaning one mess in one room, a new mess occurs in a different room. Welcome to motherhood, right? Did I mention we have a dog and a cat? I have to vacuum a few times a week and clean the floors daily, if not I would have pet hair everywhere. It also feels like we have people that we don’t know of living in our house because the piles of laundry are never ending.

As far as cleaning tips or any organizing tips, I haven’t got any, I am sorry! To be honest I wing everything. I have tried to be on a schedule or have a schedule of what gets cleaned on certain days but that lasted for about a week. Let’s be honest, life happens. I feel like there are other things that are a priority to me. And life only gets busier. Sue me!

The only thing that I will do every night, like I mentioned before is clean the floors every night. I wait till the night time because the girls are in bed, the pets have gone out to the bathroom and are in their kennels. So I have time to do it without interruptions. As far as what I like to use for cleaning, I like my go-to all surface cleaner, because I am obsessed with the natural plant based ingredients. It makes it so easy for me to use one products for different surfaces.

One of the things I am looking forward to, is getting rid of a lot of stuff we don’t use anymore. I have tons of clothes I can donate. I also have tons of baby items that Emmi has outgrown so I take a lot of the stuff to KidtoKid and re-sell it. It is a great way to make some extra cash for things I was just hoarding. Addi has some toys she can also donate or sell.

Check out these mamas and how they are taking on ’spring cleaning’ I can’t wait to read their tips because I clearly need some. Happy Monday!

  1. I have been wanting to use more natural cleaners so I am going to have to check it out! Thank you for the recommendation!

  2. Seriously the hardest part about cleaning is the minute you are finished there is another mess to be cleaned! It's never ending!! Haha, but I guess that's just life.
