And just like that, Our baby girls is ONE! I still can’t believe we have a one year old walking around the house. It seemed like it would take forever to get here, then I blinked and here we are. This year flew by and hit me out of nowhere. I was not emotionally prepared to celebrate Emmi turning one. But we celebrated with a winter ONEderland birthday. I thought it was appropriate since it is winter and all.
We had a small intimate get together with a few friends. We wished that all the grandparents and family would able to be here to celebrate, but we still got to see them over the weekend. I picked out the colors silver and purple, I just liked those together. But as I was getting all the party stuff together I realized it was looking more like a frozen themed party, so I had to tone the snowflakes down, ha ha. Her birthday cake and cupcakes were from Smith’s, our local grocery. Those had snowflake toppers. We had lavender lemonade, so yummy. And just a few finger foods.
When it was time to do the cake, I was anxious because I wasn’t sure if she would dig in or cry. It was the first time Emmi has had sweets/sugar and she loved it. There is no going back for her. Her birthday was simple and sweet. Just what I wanted. We usually go all out for birthdays but it was nice to not have to worry about everything.
