After long days like yesterday, grocery shopping, school drop off and pick-ups, and running after an infant, at the end of the day all I want to do is relax in my backyard. Have a girlfriend come over and chat about mommy hood. The evenings have been getting a lot cooler here and a nice relaxing tea is all this mama needs. I am a sucker for a nice mug or two. I am all about prints and quotes. Sometimes we need that nice classy set of mugs not only to entertain but to add that effortless look to any table. I love this tea set from 222 Fifth. It is great for entertaining any quest. Add some tasty sweets and a nice relaxing evening is underway. Talking about sweets, I am not a huge baker. I am all bout the pre-packaged ready to bake type of baker, ha ha. But I was in the mood to bake something sweet. Needles to say I totally bombed it. Although my blueberry scone tasted amazing, it looked a little weird. Take it from me, add real blueberries and not blueberry pie filling.
Blueberry Scone Recipe
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
2/3 cup sugar
2 sticks butter, softened
1/2-2/3 cup milk
pint of blueberries
In a bowl, mix together dry ingredients. Crumble in butter until dough has a coarse, cornmeal-like texture. Stir in blueberries, Gradually mix in milk, just enough to have dough stick together
Drop 1/4 cups of dough onto a greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Allow to cool before removing from pan. Serve with butter or jam of choice
