2016 Goals

A look back at 2015 from the beginning of summer, to announcing our pregnancy, to these last few winter days. We've been enjoying our 2015 to the max! With a new move and a new baby, I can't wait to see what 2016 will bring us.

Not sure if this is my New Years resolution or just goals, but either way I need to set some things for my self. So here's a list of things I hope to work on and new things I want to start in the new year.

Self:
1. As a SAHM it doesn't mean I don't get to have a life outside of home. It is important to be happy with myself and surround my self with other people and/or moms who think the same.

2. As a mother, to be able to put the phone down and pay attention more. To listen more. A lot of times it is so easy to get consumed in the social world, and hard to just sit with Addi and play with her. I need to remind myself that these are the moments that she is starting to remember. I don't want her to think back and say, mommy was always on her phone or computer.

3. Now that I will be a mother of two I want to learn how to balance being a mom to two. I know It's not something that will happen over night either. I just hope that I can be a string mother to be able to handle it all.

4. Play with Addi more so with the new baby she doesn't feel left out. This has always been a big concern with me. I have a few people that gave me some awesome tips on how I can handle this a little better. Slowly but surely I am starting to feel confident about this!

5. Dance like no one is watching. Being at home and being a "first time mom" to two kids, I feel like the first couple weeks I will be in PJ's covered in spit up. Instead of feeling depressed or loosing my sanity, I will have to dance it off. And always remember that we are making memories and there is always a new Tomorrow!

6. Working out. This seems to be every ones "new year resolution" but for me it's more than that. It's something I will start as soon as I get the OK from the doctor. It is a lifestyle for me. Last year I started working out and took it seriously. I was surprised at how good I felt inside and out. So I will definitely stick to it again!

Blogger:
1. Find a planner and calendar that I can write stuff down. For me, having something that is visual helps a lot more.

2. Increase my traffic. I would love to see my traffic increase monthly and stay consistent. It doesn't mean having thousands of followers by the end of the year but it would be great to have some new followers that will actually enjoy my blog.

3. Staying consistent with my post. At least 3 times a week, with a newborn I hope I can keep it up. I have good weeks and bad weeks where I'll go a whole week without posting!

Wife:
1. Spencer and I do pretty good at being partners. It's like we go together perfectly and in sync. There's not much I would say we need to work on but you never want to stop working on each other. Whether that is trying something new together, something always seems to improve a relationship. I hope that I'm not way busy as a mother that I neglect our relationship.

2. We also do pretty good at going out for date nights. Usually we have our "third wheel" Addi, but we love bringing her along. She's at the age where she enjoys being with us and just going to dinner and a movie. She doesn't always need to watch an animated movie, we've taken her to the avengers movies etc, so that's always good. Now that we have family that always wants to take Addi from us, we might just have time for ourselves :)

3. Do more of what I know he likes. For Spence, that means back scratches. When we lay down for the night a catch up on some of our favorite T.V shows, I know he always ask for a back scratch. Maybe from now on, instead of waiting for him to ask, I will just do.

Quotes to keep in mind for the new year

"Stop getting distracted by things that have nothing to do with your goals"

"You get what you work for, not what you wish for"

"This is the beginning of anything you want"

"The best is yet to come"

"If you are not obsessed with your life, change it"

Cheers to the new year, new us and remember to enjoy the little things!

What are your goals for the new year? We would love to hear them! :)
