Holiday Reading

At our weekly Barnes & Noble visit we started rounding up our favorite holiday books. We found these to be our favorites so far.
1. The elf on the shelf, this one seems to be an obvious and very popular in almost every house hold. At first the thought of this tradition was a little creepy. But now that Addi is getting older I thought it would be a fun new tradition to start in our household.  Although I wish they would keep them a little more discreetly, since we are telling Addi our elf flew in from the north pole, not came from the store!

2. Home alone, now this one a lot of you know what's it about. I think it was a good idea to make a kid approved book since not a lot of the younger kids will sit and watch the whole movie. But it is such a good holiday movie. To have the option of watching the movie or reading the book will be a fun new tradition you can start with the Little's.

3. Mariah Carey is one of my all time favorite singers. In high school I would jam out to all her singles. And her "All I want for Christmas is you" song is so popular for the holidays, I hear it everywhere now. I think kids will love this story line which also includes the Lyrics to the song!

4. Just like around Halloween time, there was the "A Halloween scare in Utah" this is a fun to read book about the holidays based around Utah landmarks that the kids in Utah (if you are a local) will recognize and make Christmas feel that much more personal. Check your local store to find the book of the state you live in.
