One of the hardest things for most pregnant women is not being able to have a drink for 9+ months. Even longer if you are breastfeeding. I'm not a huge drinker, but I do enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine here and there and on special occasions. I mean, what is a woman suppose to do after a long day of dealing with the kiddos. After they go to bed all we wanna do is unwind with some peace and quiet. Either alone or with our husbands. So what is a girl suppose to do to unwind herself now while pregnant?  Although I  can't have alcohol I can still have a nice refreshing drink and pretend ;) It's not hard to whip up pregnancy "mock-tails." Here are three to try.

Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri
1 ounce fresh lime juice
3 ounces frozen strawberries in syrup (or fresh, if available)
1 teaspoon sugar
Cracked ice
Fill a blender with cracked ice. Add lime juice, strawberries, and sugar. Blend until smooth, then pour into a chilled glass. Garnish with a fresh strawberry or an orange slice.

Virgin PiƱa Colada
2 ounces coconut milk
1½ ounces crushed pineapple
1 ounce pineapple juice
1/4 cup crushed ice
Brown sugar to taste (no more than one tablespoon)
Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth (about 30 seconds). Pour into chilled glass. Garnish with an orange slice, a pineapple wedge, or a maraschino cherry.

Virgin Bloody Mary
4 ounces tomato juice
½ ounce lemon juice
½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
A dash of hot sauce
A pinch of celery salt (add to taste)
A pinch of salt (add to taste)
A pinch of pepper (add to taste)
Cracked ice
Ice cubes
Combine tomato juice, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and seasonings in a mixing glass. Shake with ice and strain into glass filled with ice cubes. Garnish with a celery stalk and a wedge of lime.
