DIY: Pumpkin art

When I started to decorate my home for Halloween I came across this pumpkin canvas art and I was inspired, I loved it so much I made my own, not as cute but close enough.

original tutorial found here

So here is my version
Supplies:
black foam board (I cut it to 8x10)
Ruler
scissors
pencil
hot glue and gun
scrapbook paper (your color choices)
ribbon
beads or buttons
white paint and brush

You can start with your ruler and start making a zig-zag pattern, follow it as close as possible. If you make a mistake try not to use the eraser on the black board, it is easy to see. Also if you find it easier to use the tape method, do that.

Once you have completed the pattern, grab your white paint and brush. It is easier to paint when you have the tape over it, so if you did it my way, just paint carefully. I used two coats of paint.

For the pumpkin I used these beads, I just free handed a pumpkin round shape on a white paper and glued that onto my board. I choose the corner of my board, you can choose to make your pumpkin where ever you want, and glued away. It does take some time since the beads are smaller.

For the banner I just folded my paper in half and with my scissors I cut triangle shaped pieces. Again cut into your preferred size.

About the size I used. I then cut that triangle out and played around with what pattern I wanted the banner to be. I glued the pieces to my ribbon and then glued the banner loosely to my board.

For the stem I wasn't sure what to use, I didn't want to just use paint so I had some materials on hand that I used. I glued some tulle and craft leaves that I had. You can get creative with this.

And there you have it!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed this tutorial as much as I did.
